O prince of Vraja, who can say
whether You are at fault or
not at fault for abandoning
this girl? Who can say
whether Your actions are
auspicious or inauspicious?
Still, O tilaka-marking of Your family,
my cruel heart remembers how
this girl entered the dangerous
forest for Your sake, without
caring for Her own self.
