Every day in the afternoon
in the mild spring weather,
we drive in the car
and observe that the trees
are turning green.
Baladeva and I go in the front seats
and Anuradha and Syama from Oxford
sit in the back seats. We all drive to
the organic farm, where they sell
many varieties of ice cream in cones.
We each pick out a particular flavor,
of which they have many. They
make delicious ice cream.
We offer it in our minds to Krishna
and the women, as well as I,
chant the Hare Krishna mantra
as we eat our ice cream. It is
a delightful, daily outing.
Probably, when the Oxford devotees leave,
Baladeva and I will not continue the routine
of going to get daily ice cream. It is
just something we do because
we are all here together,
sharing a common interest.
