Poem for May 17

Japa Poem

Browsed through _Entering the Life of Prayer_. Sometimes I like it better than at other times. This time I read it and I thought it was teaching me. Something was there.

When I wrote that book, I was agitated, moved in some deep part of myself, stirred and spurred to commit myself to “constant prayer.” I wanted to admit wrongs and live for the inner life of honesty. I wanted to devotedly and regularly offer myself to Krishna.

JAPA POEM

Read from _Entering the Life of Prayer_.
I admitted that
when I wrote it,
I was deeply moved
to commit myself
to constant prayer.
“I wanted to
devotedly, regularly
offer myself to Krishna.”
It was a revolutionary
era in my life.
