I had a nice personal visit
from Damodara Swami,
who was formerly known as Prabhupada das.
I hadn’t seen him for a long time.
He spoke about memories from long ago.
We remembered a time when he occupied
our first storefront temple in Boston
and converted it to an antique store.
I went there once from the North Beacon
Street Temple and purchased from him
an inexpensive straight-backed chair.
He had a pet monkey in the basement.
At lunchtime today he spoke a lot of Spanish
to the two devotees from Spain who
are visiting with us for a month.
He is a very pleasant and serious sannyasi
who has just reached his 70th birthday.
I enjoyed my time with him.
