Poem for May 24

Japa Poem

This is the “yea-saying” to devotional life. Yes, I will chant. Yes, I do chant. I am a Hare Krishna person; I like to chant all day whenever I can. I am not like Dracula when you show him the cross. For me, the offer to chant on my beads is always welcome. The retreat gave a refreshed sense of proof that this is so.

“While the body is fit, therefore, why should we not chant the holy name of the Lord loudly and distinctly? . . . one who chants the holy name of the Lord constantly is guaranteed to return home, back to Godhead without a doubt.” (_Bhag._ 6.2.49, purport)

(_Begging for the Nectar of the Holy Name_)
JAPA POEM

I am a Hare Krishna devotee,
and I like to chant
as much as I can.
The offer to chant
is always welcome.
“The retreat gave a
refreshed sense of proof
that this is so.”
Always chant Hare Krishna,
and you are
guaranteed to go back home,
back to Godhead.
