Poem for May 31

Radha-Govinda

Radha-Govinda reciprocate with me.
Radha-Govinda, my disciples, Mani Manjari
and Lalita Manjari, are coming
next weekend and they will clean You
and change Your dress.
There has been some delay
in this because we have no
qualified pujaris. But You
are patient. At present,
You are wearing an excellent
new outfit by Tapan.
I receive Your darsana during
the early morning japa session.
I don’t gaze intently for all
the 16 rounds, but I look at You
intermittently with wide open eyes.
I hope I have the right attitude.
I long to see You as nondifferent from
Radha-Krishna in the spiritual world
and not as statues made of matter.
You are blessing me with
the ability to behold You
properly, and for this
I am indebted to Srila Prabhupada,
Srimad-Bhagavatam and the example of
the Six Gosvamis of Vrindavana.
All these authorities
conclude that You are
pure spirit, and I
surrender to them.
I am grateful that Radha-Govinda
reside with me in Viraha Bhavan.
