Poem for Jun 25

Radha-Govinda

Radha-Govinda reciprocate with me.
Radha-Govinda, I did not receive Your darsana
during my morning japa session.
My eyes were weak,
and You appeared blurry. Probably
I will be fortunate enough to see You
later today when I clear up and am
not under the pressure of chanting.
You usually give me that darsana.
I consider perceiving You to be
the greatest treat.
Jayadvaita Maharaja and I were discussing
about the Supersoul. We pondered
whether a pure devotee of Vraja-Krishna
had the two-armed form in His heart
and not the form of four-armed Narayana.
(Raghunatha das Goswami instructs
his mind in Manah-siksa, “Do not worship
Lord Narayana.”) Jayadvaita Maharaja
offered as evidence from the Brahma Samhita:
“One who has his eyes anointed with
the salve of love sees the form
of Syamasundara in his heart.”
So we concluded
that if we saw
Lord Narayana, we would only
ask Him, like the gopis,
“Can You show us Krishna?”
I am grateful Radha-Govinda
reside with me in Viraha Bhavan.
