Poem for Jul 20

Personal Stanza

The other day,
Baladeva experienced the same symptoms
that sent him to the emergency room
at the hospital. He was shaking,
felt heart palpitations, and
was dehydrated.
This time he treated himself.
He drank 2 cartons of
coconut water and has
had a good recovery effect.
The devotees went out and bought
a large air conditioning unit
for the first floor, which was
much needed to control the
overbearing hot temperature there.
Yesterday he had an appointment
with the cardiologist who confirmed
his symptoms. He told them
he should sleep seven to eight
hours uninterruptedly. He
should make a schedule of
frequent hydration during the day.
We are concerned that Baladeva
doesn’t collapse again.

Now I have received the manuscript
for Looking Back, Volume 2.
Yesterday I began a careful reading
of the book. I am avoiding
a “marathon” approach
to reading, but taking my time
in reading small portions so that
I don’t get headaches or make
careless mistakes. So far,
I like the content of the book.

Rama Raya, from the harinama party
in NYC, is visiting us for a few days.
His right-hand man, Natabara Gauranga
is also here for an extended period
to “detox” from the intensity of the
every day six hour chanting yajna
in public in Manhattan.
Rama Raya takes good care of his men
so that they don’t burn out.
I am glad that they consider
Viraha Bhavan a good place to come to
when they need to “chill out.”
