Poem for Jun 21

Personal Stanza

Rama Raya and Madhu-mangala of the
New York City public harinama party,
decided at 10:30 P.M. to make a visit to Stuyvesant Falls.
They wanted to see us and “chill out”
from the intensity of the City.
They drove up in the light traffic and
parked outside our house in the car
at 2:30 A.M. and slept.
We are always happy to see them.
They are advanced devotees
and very affectionate and entertaining.
Madhu-mangala went to visit Dhanurdhara Swami,
and I thought he spent too much time with him,
cheating us of his association.
Yesterday was Ekadasi. Linda made
buckwheat pancakes with spinach inside.
Baladeva prepared our new favorite:
miniature potatoes soaked in butter and salt.
We also had asparagus.
It was simple, but we considered it a feast.
Kaliya Damana made a dessert of his famous
vegan sweet: peanut butter and “peat moss.”
Ananda Kishor fasts completely on every Ekadasi.
He was born on an Ekadasi, and an astrologer
told him to always observe complete fasting.
He says it is easy for him to do.
