Poem for Mar 17

Japa Poem

There are higher stages in nama-rasa, but this may be all I can do for now (and it is no small thing): STAMP OUT PRAMADA!

(_Begging for the Nectar of the Holy Name_)

In his _Harinama Cintamani_,
Bhaktivinoda Thakura has written
that one may avoid all the ten offenses
to chanting, but still not feel bliss. This
is due to committing the one fault of
“inattention while chanting”. This is
known in Sanskrit as pramada. It may be
due to laziness or past sinful reactions.
One has to attempt to reform by
very carefully and methodically
separating the Names and bringing
the mind back from errant thoughts,
back into focus
on the Hare Krishna mantra.
